Bolognese sauce Bolognese sauce is one of the sauces consisting mainly of minced meat, and its origins go back to Western countries, where it first appeared in Bologna, Italy, and it is served alongside many delicious dishes, especially pasta, and its preparation methods differ from one region to another depending on the ingredients and flavors inside. In preparing it, and in our topic we will present ways to prepare this sauce at home.
Making bolognese sauce
Prepare a bolognese sauce requires the following ingredients:
- Half a kilogram of minced meat.
- A glass of tomato juice.
- Chopped onion.
- Grated carrot.
- Three tablespoons of vegetable oil.
- Half a tablespoon of fine thyme.
- Pinch of black pepper.
- Half a tablespoon of dry coriander.
- A teaspoon of dried basil powder.
- A tablespoon of salt.
- A bunch of finely chopped parsley.
- Five sticks of chopped celery.
- Three cloves of garlic crushed.
How to prepare
- Heat the oil in a saucepan over a medium heat, and fry the onions until they wilt.
- Add the crushed garlic to the onions, stirring constantly.
- Add grated carrots and celery, and stir the ingredients together for some time.
- Add the minced meat, tomato juice, and parsley, stirring well.
- We flavor the previous ingredients with salt, black pepper, coriander, basil, and thyme, and stir well until it boils.
- Leave the sauce on a low heat for at least a third of an hour until it is completely cooked.
- Remove the sauce from the heat, and set it aside until you use it.
Making Bolognese Sauce and Pasta
Make the Bolognese sauce and pasta, consisting of:
- Half a kilogram of boiled spaghetti pasta.
- Two cups of chopped tomatoes.
- Half a cup of minced lamb.
- Two cups of ground beef.
- A third of a cup of sun-dried tomatoes.
- A quarter cup of olive slices.
- Two cups of peeled tomatoes.
- Grated onion. Minced cloves of garlic.
- Two teaspoons of olive oil.
- ¼ cup of fresh basil leaves, chopped.
- Half a tablespoon of dry thyme.
- Grated Parmesan cheese, as desired.
- Two teaspoons of tomato sauce.
Method of preparation
- Heat the oil in a saucepan over a medium heat, and fry the onions, garlic, and minced meat with constant stirring for at least five minutes until the color of the meat changes.
- Add tomato sauce, dried tomatoes, chopped and peeled tomatoes, olive slices, basil, and thyme to the previous ingredients, stir and then let it simmer over a low heat.
- Stir the mixture of the previous ingredients until it becomes thick, then flavor it with salt and black pepper.
- We remove the sauce from the heat, pour it over the boiled pasta, then sprinkle it with grated cheese and serve.
